بكل التقدير والاعتزاز، ترحب جامعة القاهرة بالسيد أنطونيو غوتيريش، الأمين العام للأمم المتحدة، في زيارة تعكس عمق الروابط بين الجامعة والمنظمة الدولية، وتؤكد أهمية الدور الذي تضطلع به المؤسسات الأكاديمية في تعزيز السلام والحوار والتفاهم بين الشعوب.

وتعتز جامعة القاهرة بعلاقات التعاون الممتدة مع الأمم المتحدة ووكالاتها ومنظماتها المتخصصة، وبإسهاماتها العلمية والبحثية والمجتمعية في دعم أهداف التنمية المستدامة، ونشر ثقافة السلام، وتعزيز قيم المواطنة والتسامح والتنوع، وإعداد أجيال من الشباب القادرين على الإسهام في مواجهة التحديات العالمية وصناعة مستقبل أفضل للإنسانية.

وتكتسب هذه الزيارة دلالة خاصة، إذ يعود السيد أنطونيو غوتيريش إلى رحاب جامعة القاهرة بعد زيارته لها في فبراير 2017، مع بداية توليه مسئولياته أمينًا عامًا للأمم المتحدة، لتتجدد جسور الحوار بين الجامعة والمنظمة الدولية.
